Hello friends and readers!
A very happy October to you all! I hope this season finds you in good health and high spirits. Holidays are approaching, leaves are turning and the weather is cooling. I love this time of year!
It has been over a month since the release of Resurrecting the Maiden, and it has already been well received. The third title of the Treachery and Triumph series remained the #1 new release in teen and young adult pirate fiction for the entire month of September and the first two weeks in October! I couldn’t be happier. It seems Lilith, Chibs, and Lieutenant Pike have found their way into the hearts and imaginations of quite a few people. Some have even expressed their concern for certain characters. What baffles me the most is that the most asked about character is none other than Chibs. I didn’t intend for the salty old quartermaster to become a central focus, but it seems to me that it would be an injustice to leave unanswered questions about a character that has found favor with so many of you fine folks. The most asked question (by at least a dozen emails) is Chibs going to be okay? My whole-hearted answer… I just don’t know. Frustrated? I know. Me too. All in due time. I will keep plugging away, making progress where I can on Under the Black Flag for a hopeful release date in the spring.
But, the question has been asked several times. Where did Chibs come from? What was he doing before the Maiden became the scourge of the Caribbean? How did a lawful vessel of the East India Company become a dreaded sight on the horizon for all who carry slaves as cargo?
Perhaps that deserves its own book. Or, a series of short stories. My to do list grows…
